If I have a match, does that automatically mean I have a meeting?

  • No. A match does not signify a meeting. As a supplier, you are required to view your matches before the event and confirm meetings. See directions below.

How do I view my matches?

Buyer schedules are full. How can I schedule a meeting with them?

  • If the buyers/mentors that you’ve been matched with are not available, agree to be put on the waiting list.
  • If there are any cancellations, the suppliers/protégés from the waiting list will automatically be booked a meeting.
  • If there are no cancellations before the meeting, the waiting list will be implemented onsite for any no-shows.

Can I meet with a certain company that I did not match with?

  • If you were not matched with a company that is attending it is because you did not meet the qualification they specified. Usually, it is because you do not provide the good or service they have current or future opportunities in.

Can I get Buyers contact information?

  • No. Our policy does not allow us to divulge any information.

What do I do before the event?

  • Log in to your matchmaking console to view matches and confirm meetings.
  • Be PREPARED!
  • Research the companies you have confirmed appointments with.
  • Know who they are, what they do, what they are purchasing, what contracts they have been awarded, etc.
  • Prepare and practice a pitch.
  • Highlight your good or service, your qualifications and your certifications.
  • Develop a one-page leave behind that details your good or service your qualifications, your certifications, your past performance and references.

What do I do the day of the event?

  • Dress to Impress!
  • Check-in at the Business Matchmaking desk to receive your updated schedule.
  • Be outside the business matchmaking room 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
  • Report to the assigned table number at the time of your appointment.
  • Showcase your business!
  • Exchange contact information.
  • Identify a date and time for a follow-up meeting.

How are we matched?

  • Generally, matches are based on the business categories or Business Categories you selected when registering for the event. (i.e. If Buyer X selected business category (Marketing) and Supplier X also selected business category (Marketing), they will be matched.)
  • At some events, Buyers do request other filters to be included before a match is made, including: revenue over $1 Million, Past Performance with government contracts, or a minimum of 25 employees.

Can I bring more than one person with me?

  • Each event allows a different number of people to attend. Look at the help page on the specific event you are attending to see how many participants are allowed to attend that event.
